What is "traffic"?
Traffic (or bandwidth) is the amount of information transferred from your website to your visitor's PC, measured in bits. Some hosts have limits of x gigabits, then they will tack on a surcharge for exceeding the limit. If you plan on a lot of traffic, it is better to select a hosting service with no limit. Keep in mind that the more graphics and such that are on a site, the bandwidth will be higher.

What is a "re-direct"?
A re-direct is a process where a website can be re-directed to go to another website. This is usually used when multiple domains are registered, but the company wants all traffic to go to one domain.

What is an "auto-responder"?
An auto-responder is a process that will automatically "answer" an incoming email. Like "Thank you for your request, it has been sent to the appropriate person"...

How do I work my email with my site?
A mailbox can be set up on your website and you can access it via Netscape, Internet Explorer, or other means. This could be something like INFO@YOURDOMAIN. Any replies that you send from this mailbox will be "from" INFO@YOURDOMAIN. OR - A re-direct can be set up to forward all mail to INFO@YOURDOMAIN to another address like ME@MYISP.COM. In this case, any replies that you send will be from "ME@MYISP.COM".

What is a place holder page?
A place holder is a simple page that is put on your website so that visitors have something to view until your website is complete. It may contain only a little information about your organization, with contact information, or it could be a full page. If you think it will be a while before you complete your site, put a place holder up. At least with a place holder they will be able to contact you.

What does a Webmaster do?
Basically, the Webmaster makes the requested changes to the website, performs maintenance for the site, and sets up email addresses and re-directs.

What is a forwarder?
The forwarder will take email sent to one address and forward it to another. It could be something like mail sent to me@mydomain, could be forwarded to me@aol.com. This way someone would only have to be concerned about checking mail in one place, their AOL account.

What is FTP?
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. It's a program by which one transfers file from one computer to another. It's used to transfer your web site files up to your host's server.

Will my web page be found by Google?
Search engines go out and look for a metaname entry called 'keywords'. In this statement will be placed words that people would use in an attempt to search for your site or product. It sometimes takes a few weeks for search engines to catch up to a change or addition.

When I print pages on the website I get the menu and only one page.
Try this: Click in the frame you want to print (but not on a link) and then print. Also, check your browser printing functions, you may have options to print each frame or the screen as is, usually one page though.

My mouse scroll doesn't work right on the web site.
Place the cursor in the frame you want to scroll, maybe click there. This works in Netscape and Internet Explorer.

Your browser MAY be set to reload once per session; every access; or NEVER. If you think a page should have changed, hit "reload" or "refresh".
You can check Netscape by going to:

EDIT
--- preferences
------ advanced
--------- cache
Look to see which is selected towards the bottom: "Document in Cache is compared to the network:".

If "NEVER" is selected, you'll always be looking at an old copy unless you hit "reload" or "refresh".

Also, if you are using a permanent connection, like RoadRunner™, if you leave your browser active all the time, that is still the same "session".
